Former All-Pro running back and future Hall of Famer Marshawn Lynch is “taking care of his chicken” and investing nowadays. He has been announced as an investor in the MMA league PFL (Professional Fighters League).
Lynch is a well-known MMA fan and has been for years, seen ringside at plenty of UFC events in Las Vegas. He is the latest celebrity to join in on investing in the PFL, along with comedian Kevin Hart and hip-hop artist Wiz Khalifa. Expect PFL to waste little time putting Marshawn Lynch all over their marketing and making it known that he is a part of what they are doing.

“I’m really on that owner hype right now, ya feel me,” Lynch said in a statement. “Pro teams, leagues, companies and brands, I’m wit it. Ownership allows you to be closer to the action, to keep learning and making a difference. At the end of the day, the PFL opportunity is another blessing, that’s all I can really say. PFL is the future of MMA and it’s always a win-win when you can work with like-minded folks.”
PFL’s second event of 2021 is scheduled to air tonight on ESPN2, from Atlantic City. The event is headlined by former UFC and Bellator MMA welterweights Rory MacDonald and Curtis Millender. After the event is done, PFL will announce a “BeastMode Fighter of the Night,” a nod to Lynch’s nickname in the NFL.
The PFL is very different from other MMA organizations across the world. They offer a regular season and a postseason and various point totals for wins and how you win your fights. For example. A finish can earn you as much as 6 points going towards your standings in the PFL.
