Madison Bumgarner Is An Annoying Little Crybaby
Do you remember in the playground the little kid who’d act like the sandbox was his kingdom? If anyone got near him, he throws a temper tantrum. He’s also rich too, and his parents buy him expensive clothes and even jewelry in the form of rings. This evidently makes him think he’s better than everyone. Basically, a spoiled annoying kid that nobody wants to be around. This is Madison Bumgarner in a nutshell, and the sandbox is the pitcher’s mound.
The career of Bumgarner has been quite noteworthy and the stats back it up. The lengthy left-handed starter has a 3.20 career earned run average, and 120 wins. He helped the San Francisco Giants win three titles between 2010-2014. His game seven performance in 2014 alone was one for the ages and is arguably the greatest World Series pitching performance ever. During this time, however, a certain cockiness began to come out.
The Dodgers and the Giants are one of the greatest sports rivalries out there. It goes back to the days of New York with Bobby Thomson and Jackie Robinson. In recent years, there has been much debate as to who is the better franchise, and it’s tough to say. Bumgarner seems to be at the recent forefront for a distaste of the Los Angeles Dodgers. It seemed that whenever a player on LA showed any type of emotion, Madison would have no part of it. Examples would be yelling at Yasiel Puig or Max Muncy while casually admiring home runs. One famous home run in 2019 hit by Muncy off Bumgarner landed in McCovey Cove. Muncy took a quick peek at it for the mere fact the ball was absolutely annihilated. Madison told him to “f**king run”, Muncy told him to “go get it out of the ocean.”
Bumgarner would also yell at players when they’d exert any sort of frustration of their outcome on the field. This happened to Dodgers batter Alex Guerrero when he popped up a pitch. Guerrero didn’t even say anything to Bumgarner. He was just mad at himself. Yet Madison had the audacity to yell at him when he actually succeeded in getting him out. What the heck man?
Madison Bumgarner definitely carries that “get off my lawn” type attitude. The three rings he won were well earned, but he isn’t the best pitcher in the west during that period. That belongs to Clayton Kershaw. Yet, he and annoying Giants fans believe that a ring equates to overall success. This probably has gotten to his head. Luckily, he is now on one of the NL West’s least significant teams known as the Arizona Diamondbacks. Since he’s only 30, let’s see what other flippant actions he has in store for us.
