The debate as to who is the Greatest of All-Time (GOAT) is subjective. It will forever be like that, but it is always fun to debate it. It seemed like the debate was over as soon as Michael Jordan dropped “The Last Dance” documentary, at least to everyone except Bronsexuals.

LeBron James has a case, and his resume is as impressive as ever after winning the 2020 NBA Finals with the Los Angeles Lakers. That didn’t matter to Hakeem Olajuwon, though. He says that Michael Jordan was the far superior player. The full quote below as provided by NBC Sports:

“When people start comparing him with Jordan, then that’s not a fair comparison. Jordan was a far more superior player in a very tough league, and he was very creative. That’s not taking away anything from LeBron because he is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison because Jordan is a far superior player.”

Hakeem Olajuwon said

Sure, Hakeem Olajuwon didn’t precisely say that Jordan was the GOAT. But, he says he was a far superior player than LeBron James. Add it all up, and that is what he is insinuating. I don’t understand the debate anymore. I, of course, still have MJ as the GOAT. He won six titles in 14 years, and that includes his Wizards years. His resume is better than anyone that played with legitimate talent. Hell, the two years that Hakeem Olajuwon won his titles, Michael Jordan was playing baseball.

Olajuwon knew his reign of terror was over as soon as MJ came back. That’s why he called him a superior player. No one was winning titles on MJ’s watch in the 90s if he was playing. LeBron has done less with more time, not to mention more time in his prime. The debate is basically over to everyone except deranged LeBron fans. As I said, though, it’s all subjective.
