Jaylen Waddle Is The Ultimate Unicorn

My favorite thing to do with the site is doing my draft articles. Jaylen Waddle is going to be a player that I run out of words for. Waddle, the University of Alabama receiver, can only be described one way; unicorn. I’m not sure there has ever been a wide receiver like Waddle.

Since 2018 when Waddle arrived as a true freshman, Alabama quarterbacks have eight career games of a perfect passer rating when targeting the electric WR. Say what? YES. In 30 career games, Alabama quarterbacks have finished eight of them perfect when targetting Waddle. That’s beyond crazy.

I’m not sure how you even describe how fast Jaylen Waddle is. There’s quick, and then there’s whatever the hell this is.

Waddle might be listed just 5-foot-10, 183, but he’s so scary coming at you. It feels like he plays much better and is a technician with the ball in his hands. Waddle has multiple return touchdowns for a reason. He’s a menace in the open field.

Waddle isn’t just a fast guy making big plays down the field. I think he’s a much more polished route runner and player than Henry Ruggs was. Waddle has no issue getting off press coverage and can make defenders silly. Waddle relies a lot on his speed, but I’m not sure anybody is better in the country with the ball in his hands.

Waddle’s potential is crazy high. I don’t want to get too carried away, but we could be looking at a faster version of Marvin Harrison. I’ve run out of ways to describe Jaylen Waddle, and he’s just scratching the surface. We haven’t even seen him in a full-time role yet until this season.

Through two games, Waddle has 13 receptions for 276 yards and three touchdowns. I’m terms of deep threats; Waddle appears to be a unicorn. I don’t have any other adjectives for you. All I know is the Alabama product is something I’ve never seen before.
