Cal has three defensive backs entering the 2025 NFL Draft, and Nohl Williams is first on the list to cover for the profile series. We’re running out of time here so without further ado, let’s talk shop on Williams!

NFL Draft Stock Report: East-West (1), (2), Game

Williams, 22, a redshirt senior, was a three star recruit coming out of high school. Checking in at 6-foot, 199, that includes being ranked as the 191st corner and 211th ranked player in the state of California. After spending three years with UNLV, Williams finished up with his final two years at Cal.

The Cal product had a fantastic 2024 season, but has been productive for a long time. He’s coming off a season where he nabbed seven interceptions. That includes snatching one from Cam Ward where I included that highlight in his profile. Williams had two picks in 2023 and five during his UNLV tenure. He also had eight PBUs this past year and was First-team All-ACC.

The data here speaks for itself. This past year, Williams gave up an opposing passer rating of 40.1 on 65 targets. 4.5 speed isn’t anything outrageous but you can tell the short area stuff is there and we have more than enough evidence that he can make plays on the football.

For the pre-draft stuff, the Combine was really good. I thought he looked good during the East-West too. Ripping out 19 bench press reps for a corner is damn good too. All of the pre-draft stuff he passed with flying colors.

I think it’s pretty obvious that he was the best cornerback on Cal. He’s the way better player over Marcus Harris. If you didn’t learn that during the East-West week, you simply didn’t watch.
