Danny Stutsman 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Danny Stutsman has been the anchor of the Oklahoma defense for what feels like forever. Now that he’s NFL bound, we’re going over everything you need to know in this concise scouting report, continuing the 2025 NFL Draft profile series. Without further ado, let’s get right into the nuts and bolts with Stutsman.

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 1Week 7Week 13Week 14

Stutsman, 22, was a four star recruit coming out of high school during the 2021 cycle. The Winter Garden, Florida, native, was ranked as the 181st overall player, 21st overall linebacker, and 21st ranked player in the state.

I said this in the stock notes plenty of times. Speed was my biggest question on Stutsman. Otherwise, it’s pretty clear that this is a really good football player. All of that was confirmed at the Combine. A 4.52 isn’t earth shattering, but it’s more than good enough for what I expected going in. His movement skills aren’t anything crazy, but he can bend his knees, and the pass coverage stuff was actually pretty good.

The Oklahoma product checks in at 6-foot-3, 233, and has been a full time starter since his sophomore year. That 2022 season, he led the Big 12 with 125 tackles. Then he made First-team All-Big 12 and First-team All-SEC respectively, as a junior and senior.

Again, he’s not super twitched up, but the instincts are there, and he’s always gotten the job done. Tackling machine and always seems to be in the right spot to make the play. He does the little things very well.

I have a round 3-4 grade on Danny Stutsman. I view him as one of the better linebackers in the draft, and he has a chance to develop into a very capable starter. Just don’t expect him to light the world on fire right away.
