Harrison Mevis, Thiccer Kicker, Has The Best Nickname In The NFL

I don’t care what you thought was the best nickname in the NFL, it’s not correct anymore. This is the best one. Harrison Mevis has the best one now. Thiccer Kicker has all the elements of a perfect nickname. Relative to the athlete? Check. Rhyming ability (underrated part of nicknames in my opinion)? Check. Modern meme potential? Check. It’s simply fantastic.

But who is Harrison Mevis, the Thiccer Kicker? Harrison Mevin is an UDFA from Missouri. In his college career he has made 86 FGs, including 24 FGs last year. They don’t call him Thiccer Kicker for no reason though, he is 5’11 and a solid 243 pounds. He has got some weight to him but that isn’t necessarily unheard of in the NFL. Sebastian Janikowski, Tom Dempsey, and James Tuthill are all kickers that were over 250 pounds in the NFL. Tom Dempsey set the NFL record for longest FG at 63 yards, a record that was unbroken for 40 years. Sebass was known for having a considerable leg in his career with the Raiders. It only fits that Harrison Mevis is considered to have a leg on him. He currently holds the SEC record for longest FG at 61 yards, which he did against Kansas State.

Not sure how accurate this report is, but he is a perfect 20/20 in the Panthers camp so far. He has also signed a 3-year deal with the Panthers and he’s making a strong case to be the guy in Carolina. The only concern in college was his inconsistency, but who cares about that? We need the Thiccer Kicker in the NFL solely for the nickname. He plays for Carolina anyway, who cares if Harrison Mevissucks for them, they suck anyway.
