Mike Sainristil 2024 NFL Draft Profile

Mike Sainristil is one of my favorite players in the entire draft class. Why should you be excited about the cornerback from Michigan? Let’s go over it. Here is your Mike Sainristil 2024 NFL Draft Profile!

Sainristil is a converted wide receiver. The conversation should probably start there. He’s only been playing corner the last two years. In 2022, the guy really didn’t know what he was doing and still made Second-team All-Big Ten Conference. That season, Sainristil notched 58 tackles, 6.5 TFL with 2 sacks, INT, 7 PBUs starting 11 games. In 2023, Sainristil took his game to another level. He cashed in on 44 tackles, 4 TFL with 1 sack, 6 PBUs, 2 FFs, and 6 INTs. He’s also been a team captain for Michigan each of the last two years.

Like teammate Junior Colson (who Michigan man Herrick covered here) Sainristil comes from Haitian descent. Checking in at 5-foot-9, 182, Sainristil was just a three star guy coming out of high school but was the number one player rated in the entire state of Massachusetts.

Sainristil is a pure nickel corner. He’s on the smaller side with short arms and small hands. Had he been bigger and been able to be a length monster, I don’t think there is any doubt that this is a first round pick. Liked everything I saw at the Combine. He ran a 4.47 but also jumped 40 inches and ripped out 14 reps on the bench. Hard worker with top end ball skills.

He’s been mentioned in the Stock Report notes more than once. Absolutely slaughtered Washington in the championship game. I’ve also marked him down for being a willing tackler. Despite being a former receiver, he’s tough and takes pride in that element. Against big time competition, this guy has always come through. Played very well against Ohio State too.

I love Mike Sainristil and want him on my team. He’s a second round player for me but has been someone I’ve gotten in the Mock Draft Simulators at the later stages of the third round. For a high end nickel corner, I’ll turn the card in no problem there. Imagine how good the guy can be with more experience being further removed from playing receiver?
