Kamari Lassiter 2024 NFL Draft Profile

The cornerback class at the 2024 NFL Draft appears to be deep one. Kamari Lassiter hasn’t gotten a ton of hype so we’re going to break him down further. Let’s chat about the Georgia product and review his 2024 NFL Draft Profile!

The Savannah, Georgia native was a four star recruit coming out of high school. Similar to what I said about Van Pran, that can be found in the embed, Lassiter is more of a good football player rather than greased up athlete. Lassiter did not run a 40 at the Combine. There is probably a reason for that.

Lassiter is best when he gets his hands on you. I can still remember a time when people loved John Ross but those people never watched the Sugar Bowl when Marlon Humphrey just beat the piss out of him over and over. That’s kinda what Lassiter does. On a more similar level to Humphrey, Lassiter should translate into a player who becomes an ace in the slot. A weapon to match up on some of those B F tight ends and bigger slot receivers.

Not every corner has worked out at Georgia. Deandre Baker flamed out but part of that seemed to be because of off the field problems. Because Lassiter isn’t a burner, maybe some feel he has a ceiling. He doesn’t have elite ball production either. Lassiter has just one career interception.

I thought his movement skills at the Combine were more than good enough. He’s an ace in press coverage. Had eight pass deflections in 2023 and is really confident just being in man locking down his guy. Isn’t tight hipped and just battles down the field. Attacks the catch point really well and has no problem getting his nose dirty tackling.

Lassiter took over as the number one corner in Georgia after Kelee Ringo departed the program. In 2023, Lassiter allowed a passer rating of 48.7 and was named to the Second-team All-SEC. By the way, teams barely threw to his side of the field (passers to complete just 15/39 throws (38.5%) for 136 yards).

I have Kamari Lassiter as a second round player. Not as freaky as Ringo last year but a physical corner who should become a high end starter for the team that picks him. Might be a better inside corner and needs to add more power but should be a player that at least doesn’t make your owner mad at you for picking him down the line.
