Kingsley Suamataia 2024 NFL Draft Profile

Kingsley Suamataia is next on the docket for the 2024 NFL Draft Profile series. We’re going to talk about everything you need to know about the BYU tackle. By the end of this one, I think you may be convinced to join the fan club before it’s too late.

Suamataia, a former five star recruit, is the cousin of Penei Sewell. I don’t think Suamataia is quite as good as Sewell, but his testing numbers at the Combine were actually better. Not quite as physically imposing but you can see the rare athletic traits that will eventually allow him to become a similar type of force at the NFL level.

Suamataia is stupid talented. The recruiting profile backs that up. He redshirted as a freshman and once Mario Cristobal left for Miami, the man who recruited him, Suamataia took his talents to BYU. Suamataia is from Orem, Utah and likely just wanted to return to a place relatively close to home. Suamataia started at right tackle in 2022 and then switched to the left side in 2023. On the whole, he’s given up just two career sacks.

The former BYU product is still just 21 but has all the athletic traits that make him an ideal NFL left tackle. He’s what you hope for in terms of a pure athlete for the position. Certainly a very toolsy prospect. Checks in at 6-foot-5, 326, with over 34 inch arms, and nearly 11 inch hands.

Suamataia passed the test in terms of the pre-draft stuff. His work at the Combine was super impressive. He was also fantastic at the Senior Bowl too. He’s a natural in pass blocking. Needs a bit of work in the run game but he’s strong and will eventually become good in that area. None of these guys are finished products. But… for a guy that ran a 5.04 and benched 32 reps, I have confidence the light bulb will click and this will become a dominant player.

I don’t think it’s a secret. I love the player. I don’t really talk about offensive linemen during the Stock Report notes but there is a play against Arkansas this year that brings out the eggplant emoji.

I’m much higher than the consensus when it comes to Kingsley Suamataia. He’s the best tackle in the draft for me and I will sleep just fine at night turning in the card for him. Especially if I can have him later in the first round.
