Fantasy Football: Falcons Sign Kirk Cousins
Kirk Cousins is hilarious. The guy has never left a singular penny behind. He just knows how to get paid. However, this is about fantasy football. Now that Captain Kirk is with the Falcons, how should fantasy football managers handle this news?
Let’s just cut to the chase. I’m not sure this affects Cousins that much. It more so piques my interest in the Falcons supporting cast. As Garrett wisely pointed out, NOW is the time you should actually buy Kyle Pitts stock. Not before. NOW. Pitts’ stock raises more than anybody else.
Drake London is still a bum but I’m sure he will be 1% better now that someone capable of actually throwing the ball is on the team.
For Cousins, I’m not overly enthusiastic fantasy wise. Being in a dome helps but there are still a lot of unanswered questions.
How is the new offense going to function under head coach Raheem Morris?
How is Cousins going to return from the Achilles injury?
How will Cousins perform without Justin Jefferson? The weapons are actually worse in Atlanta.
I’d expect 22-30 touchdown passes from Cousins this year and a capable QB2 starter in two quarterback leagues. I wouldn’t spend an arm and a leg because there is zero rushing threat. However, if you’re hungry for a starter, you can do way worse fantasy wise.
