Panthers Acquire Vladimir Tarasenko Via Senators
The Florida Panthers are loading up to make another run at the Stanley Cup. This time it will be Vladimir Tarasenko joining the group in South Florida at the trade deadline. The Senators have agreed to send the Russian forward to the Panthers in exchange for two draft picks.

The full terms of the deal have since trickled in. Ottawa retains half on Tarasenko dropping his AAV to $2.5 million. 2025 3rd Rd Pick and a Conditional 2024 4th Rd Pick go back to the Sens. That conditional pick turns into a third if the Panthers win the Stanley Cup.
Tarasenko, 32, is a pure sniper in every sense of the word. All gas, no breaks. Isn’t a force on the defensive side of the puck but he certainly can provide timely goals. The new Panthers forward has 41 points in 57 games with Ottawa this season.
With Florida, Tarasenko likely will be placed on one of the top two lines. He will either join the Barkov and Reinhart line or the Bennett and Tkachuk pairing. Either way, a lot of the dirty work will be taken care of and Tarasenko will be asked to finish the opportunities given.
Will this be the move that pushes the Panthers over the top? They have been close to a Stanley Cup over the last two years. Time will tell if Tarasenko vibes with this group. He will be a free agent again after the conclusion of this season.
