Predicting Every Champion In 2024

As we enter 2024, it is always fun to look ahead through the year and take some shots as to who will win whatever you think. Well, in this article, I will be predicting every champion in 2024. That’s right, we are predicting the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, CFB and NCAAB champion. Some of these will be purely shots in the dark, and for others, I may have a better shot at being right. Let’s get into it as we will be predicting every champion in 2024.

MLB Champion: Los Angeles Dodgers

Come on, who else is going to win the World Series? The Dodgers went out and spent a small country’s GDP in free agency, landing Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in free agency to play alongside an already-loaded roster. Los Angeles is going to be a must-watch this year, and to make a prediction I believe they will set the new MLB record for most wins in a year, which is currently held by the 2001 Seattle Mariners, who won 116 games. I think the Dodgers will be around 120 wins this year.

NBA Champion: Boston Celtics

That’s right, the Nuggets guy is not picking his squad to go back-to-back. For what it’s worth, I do believe Denver will make the NBA Finals again this year, but this Boston Celtics squad is very good. From top-to-bottom, this roster has guys who can do a little bit of everything. It will go seven games, and Boston gets to win on their home floor. Last year we had Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray winning their first titles together, this year we get Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

NFL Champion: Baltimore Ravens

As much as it pains me to admit, as a Steelers fan, there isn’t a better team in the NFL right now than the Baltimore Ravens. Yesterday’s curb-stomping of the Miami Dolphins (sorry, Jackson Law) showed me everything I need to know. Lamar Jackson secured the MVP and put no doubt in my mind that they have what it takes to win it all this year. For what it’s worth, I think the Ravens will face the 49ers in a rematch of their 2013 Super Bowl matchup.

NHL Champions: New York Rangers

This is the only selection in this predicting every champion article where it’s kind of a shot in the dark. Looking at the numbers, I don’t think there’s a better team in the NHL than the Rangers. They are first in points with 51, first in power play percentage (30.9%) and fifth in penalty kill (84.9%). The Rangers have a great mix of young skaters who are developing well and good vets to lead them the right way.

CFB Champion: Alabama Crimson Tide

On paper, Michigan should be the favorite to win the national championship this year. They’re currently the betting favorite at +185, and they are -2 against Alabama. However, this is Michigan we are talking about. They are notorious for choking in situations like this. I believe the karma gods are going to catch up with Michigan here, dropping the semi-final game to Alabama. They will go up against Texas in a 2009 title game rematch, that will see Alabama hoist another championship trophy.

NCAAB Champion: Houston Cougars

*Disclaimer, I have no clue how the regions work, so the four teams I name here might not be able to even play one another. But we ride anyway*

For the end of my predicting every champion piece here, I will give you the final four teams and go from there. Your 2024 March Madness final four will be Houston, UConn, Marquette and Kentucky. Houston will beat Marquette in an OT thriller, and UConn will look to go back-to-back by beating Kentucky in a game that sees neither team lead by more than seven all game long. In the end, Houston will beat UConn 78-73.
