5 AEW Bold Predictions For 2024

Professional wrestling is COOKING right now. We are in the “Workmate era” and that means we are entering, what I believe, to be another golden era for the sport. 2023 was a really great year from an in-ring perspective, and AEW is going to look to continue its success into 2024.

Before we turn our calendars to the end year, I thought it would be fun to kind of take a peek ahead and make some bold predictions about what AEW might do in 2024. With that being said, here are 5 AEW bold predictions for 2024.

No. 1: Swerve Strickland Wins World Championship:

Is this even a bold prediction? It may not feel like it, with how the last few months have been for Swerve Strickland. There may not be a hotter wrestler entering 2024 than Swerve–everything about him screams the main-stream star from his entrance, the way he carries himself and even Prince Nana. Tony Khan would be wise to strap a rocket to Swerve and push him to the moon.

No. 2: Tony Khan Struggles To Find New TV Deal:

WBD is not going to re-sign AEW to their networks, leaving Khan scrambling all year long to find a new home for his shows. I believe that they will end up landing on the Paramount Network, as it was previously known as Spike TV.

No. 3: Julia Hart Holds TBS Title All Year:

For my money, no wrestler improved more than House Of Black’s Julia Hart. Her character has progressed incredibly well, she has gotten better in the ring, and as a whole her presentation package is fantastic right now. I think Tony Khan would benefit from having Hart hold the title all year, letting her work with established workers who can help her develop even more.

No. 4: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage Win AEW Tag Team Titles:

Yes, Adam Copeland turns heel this year and sides with his best friend, Christian Cage, for one last title run. The days of the “five-second pose” may be in the past, but Christian, right now, is one of the best heels in the business and I think he and Copeland would do wonders with one last run with gold. Plus, there are fun matchups to be had. We love reunions as a part of this AEW bold predictions piece.

No. 5: Will Ospreay Main Events All In:

Not only will Will Ospreay main event All In, he will be in the main event defending the AEW World Championship. I believe Ospreay will defeat Samoa Joe in the early part of 2024, carry the title through November, putting over Strickland. Ospreay could main event against Bryan Danielson (yes please), Adam Cole (also great) or Eddie Kingston (also wow).
