Matt LaFleur Proved He’s Not A Leader
The leader of men quality is a lost art in the NFL among the head coaching ranks. If we learned anything about LaFleur over this past week, it’s the fact that Green Bay has a playcaller. They sure as hell don’t have a leader. Everything that happened with Jaire Alexander has done nothing but expose LaFleur for being a bad leader.
If you don’t know already, Alexander crashed the coin toss last week against Carolina. Then tried his best to mess up the joined toss by making the wrong call. Alexander is not a captain. He just went out there on his own.
The worst part of the blunder? LaFleur allowed him to be part of the coin toss. Then never benched him. Just allowed him to play in the game like nothing was wrong. Alexander did his post-game and acted like nothing was wrong.
Just totally unacceptable and a total slap in the face to LaFleur. The Packers did suspend Alexander for one game, but who cares? He already disrespected LaFleur and never disciplined him during the actual game itself.
It would be one thing if this was just one crazy player out of line. It’s not. This is a pattern. A pattern that probably led to Alexander doing what he did.
The entire room knows defensive coordinator Joe Barry is a fraud. Tommy DeVito can’t execute a forward pass but don’t worry, Barry doesn’t know what he’s doing. He allowed DeVito to escape the pocket and rush for a season high 71 yards on ten carries to lose the game.
Except LaFleur won’t fire Barry. They’re friends and vacation together. The locker room knows it.
The Packers have a playcaller. They don’t have a leader. It’s as clear as day. The players don’t respect him and he has shown that he has no ability to hold people accountable. It is what it is.
