Mortal Kombat 1 releases new Omni-Man trailer

The first gameplay trailer has been released for a Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character.

The game dropped on Sept. 19, 2023, and the newest entry in the historic franchise has been well received up to this point in time. Now, the first DLC gameplay trailer showcases Omni-Man in the world of Mortal Kombat.

He looks amazing in the trailer and fits in perfectly to the viscous and brutal fighting game. Also, Season Two, Episode One of Invincible–the show Omni-Man is from–was released on Nov. 3. It was the ideal time to publish this trailer while the Invincible and Mortal Kombat hype was still high.

NetherRealm did a fantastic job with their depiction of Omni-Man. He has extreme confidence and disdain for inferior beings in all the pre-fight interactions while his intense dialogue opens the door for many fun and quotable face-offs. They succeeded at delivering a lot of the same movements and moves from the Invincible series; Omni-Man looks extremely quick with multiple different flying attacks and interesting defensive dodges.

The two moves that will stand out most to Invincible fans are Omni-Man’s Fatal Blow and Fatality. Spoilers ahead for people who have not watched the opening season of Invincible. Omni-Man’s brutal beat down of the opposition in his Fatal Blow looks eerily similar to what he did to Mark on the mountain in the season finale.

Furthermore, his fatality is a Mortal Kombat take on the iconic train scene in Invincible. The Fatality was a truly perfect blend for fans of Invincible and Mortal Kombat.

More Information on the Kombat Pack:

As I mentioned earlier, this is the first gameplay trailer for any character available in the Kombat Pack. These DLC characters were teased months ago, but now fans will be getting content surrounding these kombatants. Omni-Man was arguably the most hyped new character so it makes sense that his trailer was the first one released. The trailer stated that Omni-Man will be available on November 9.

There is no set date for the other Kombat Pack characters. However, they will likely each get their rollout in some shape or form.

The other characters in the DLC pack can be split up into two groups. The first group is Homelander and Peacemaker, who are popular culture characters from other hit television series. The second group is made up of Takeda, Ermac and Quan Chi.

These three characters are returning Mortal Kombat characters from previous games. Fans can be excited knowing other Kombat pack characters are on the horizon but for now, everyone gets to enjoy Omni-Man.
