WWE legend Ric Flair says he’d be ‘in jail’ if social media existed in his youth

Ric Flair is known for his controversial lifestyle and even the WWE legend admits that he’d have lived behind bars for his past.

The Nature Boy’s in-ring character was always larger than life, and at the time, he stood out amongst his peers. However, the WWE Hall of Famer was not only putting on an act but got up to many scandalous things outside of the Squared Circle. Ric Flair’s crazy lifestyle–at least in his younger days–was well documented, and it seems like the legend knows he was up to no good.

In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Ric Flair was asked whether he still tries to reach out to young stars to offer them advice.

“I try to, but I realize it doesn’t mean anything because the first thing they’re going to,” he said. “They want to go look and see what the fans are saying. The fans run their life. Social media runs everything.”

After the WWE legend brought up social media, he was asked whether or not he’d survive in the current age of social media if it happened during his youth. The Nature Boy laughed it off and guessed that young Ric Flair would probably be in jail right now.

“He’d be in jail [laughs],” Flair said. “We’d be conducting this interview from Riker’s Island.”

While he seems to have toned down a lot more in his twilight years, according to the WWE Hall of Famer himself, he still takes surprising amounts of testosterone shots to keep up in his sexual life.

Ric Flair claims that a biopic on his life is on the way

With such a wild life behind him, fans can only imagine what The Nature Boy got up to at the height of his fame. Additionally, Ric Flair had some of the best matches of his time and cut many memorable promos. Naturally, many fans have wondered if his movie-grade life would be made into a film and it seems like it’s on its way. In the same episode on The Breakfast Club, the WWE Hall of Famer confirmed that a biopic on his life is in development.

“I know… Guess what? It’s coming down. No (it’s not based on my book). I can’t tell you any more than that,” he said. “I just got the word… the writer’s strike is over. I can’t say any more.”

(H/T: Fightful).

It remains to be seen when the Ric Flair biopic will be announced or how far the production on it currently is. Notably, The Von Erich Family will be immortalized in an upcoming biopic later this year, with Zac Efron at the helm. In the film, Aaron Dean Eisenberg will portray The Nature Boy. Depending on his performance, it will be interesting to see if they cast him in Flair’s own biopic.
