Bears DC Alan Williams Resigns Out Of Nowhere

The Bears suck (which shouldn’t be a surprise unless you’re dumb) and things just keep getting worse. Chicago is 0-2 and just lost their defensive coordinator. Alan Williams has just resigned out of nowhere. Williams claims he’s quitting to focus on his health but it sure feels like there is more to the story.

It’s too early to say what’s going on but it’s pretty clear that Williams quit for more reasons than just to protect his health. It looks like a bombshell is coming and Williams got out of the building before it dropped.

Williams, 53, has been away from the Bears since last week. Bears hired Williams in February 2022 basically right after Matt Eberflus took the job. The good news is that Eberflus is a defensive coach and has already taken the play calling duties over. The Bears suck on both sides of the ball but this could have been far more damaging if Williams was an offensive coach tasked with helping young quarterback Justin Fields develop. It’s not like Fields has played well anyway so take that for what you will.
