Sasha Vezenkov signs three-year, $20 million deal with Sacramento Kings

The reigning EuroLeague MVP is taking his talents across the pond to the NBA. Sasha Vezenkov has signed a three-year $20 million deal with the Sacramento Kings, as first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski. Sacramento has added another European star to their star-studded roster on a cheap deal.

Only a few years back, the Kings acquired Vezenkov’s draft rights from the Cleveland Cavaliers, trading away a second-round pick for him. Vezenkov decided to spend another in the EuroLeague and it paid off greatly for not only him, but for the Kings as well. Vezenkov earns a bigger payday and the Kings gain momentum heading into next season after a hard-fought 2023 season.

In staying for one more year, Vezenkov took his skillet to a new height, winning EuroLeague MVP and falling just short of a championship.

Last season, Vezenkov played with the Olympiacos basketball team. In winning his MVP, Vezenkov lead the league in scoring with 17 points per game. Vezenkov also averaged six rebounds and two assists per game while shooting 60% from the field and 43% from deep.

“More specifically, they intend him to back up Keegan Murray in position 4, considering that he has all the elements to offer solutions with his peripheral shot and his ability to rebound. He is the player who can complement Murray at position 4, while it is possible that the two players will play together on the floor.“
