After an impressive rookie campaign, Coby White is staying in Chicago. White and the Bulls have agreed on a three-year deal worth $40 million with the Windy City. Via Woj.
The Chicago Bulls have made an attempt at salvaging their lineup during free agency, and it starts with the young guys. Coby White is coming off his least productive season in his career. But that stat can often be misleading. White saw a drop in four and eight minutes from the previous two seasons, leading to his loss in production. Although White hasn’t been putting the ball in the basket as much, he is becoming more efficient. White is coming off a career high in field goal percentage at 44.3% from the field and just shy of his three-point percentage high at 37.2%.
Last season, White averaged only 10 points per game, three shy of last season. White also averaged three assists and three rebounds on the year last season. Outside of the regular season, White became a crucial part of the Bulls playoff hopes. In the Bulls two play in games last season, White played quite well for his minutes given. In 25 minutes in a play in game against the Raptors, White scored nine points on 100% shooting from the field and three, he also added on five assists that game. During the next game, White added on 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Safe to say, White is looking good for the Bulls future.
How did the Bulls do in free agency? Was $40 million too much for Coby White or was it just right? Let us know in the comments.
