Lamar Jackson Fantasy Football Re-Draft Profile 2023

Although Lamar Jackson has slowly being figured out with his ability as a QB in the NFL (not the best passer). Lamar Jackson is always a great fantasy player because of his ability to run. He finished as QB14 in total points but QB7 in fantasy points per game he did play. So obviously he’s still a top-10 fantasy QB. The question is if Lamar Jackson can sneak into the top 5 with the new acquisitions the Ravens made in the off-season. Here’s Lamar Jackson fantasy outlook for the 2023 season

Does Lamar Jackson finally have enough weapons? One of the few criticisms I understood of Lamar Jackson’s lack of success was his lack of weapons. I finally feel like he cannot have that excuse this year. He willed himself into new weapons and a new contract. Now, he has to deliver. JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards are both healthy, Odell Beckham Jr. Is healthy and in Baltimore now. The Ravens drafted Zay Flowers. Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews are still there. I think Lamar is fully prepared to have a great fantasy year if he can stay healthy.

We know Lamar is going to run the ball, despite Dobbins and Edwards in the backfield. He’s going to run despite having Bateman, Odell, Mark Andrews, and Zay Flowers as receiving options. That’s part of his game. I think having all these weapons actually helps him in passing AND running fantasy production for Lamar. Defenses cannot stack the box as much because they have 4 capable receiving options. They would constantly leave them open. Maybe that’s what defenses want, to force Lamar to throw, but if Lamar can connect with his receivers, uh oh.

If he starts connecting with passes, that’s only going to open up running lanes for him, then what do defenses do? However, be aware that Lamar has only thrown over 3,000 yards once in his career, and it was only a mere 3,127 yards…in 2019. Lamar’s fantasy production is heavily dependent on his running so I wouldn’t be running to grab any Ravens WRs. Maybe if they’re on the waiver wire or you can draft them late round.

Still, the lack of passing production will scare me away from putting Lamar Jackson top 5 for fantasy QBs, but for sure, he should be a top 10 fantasy QB, no doubt. The acquisitions in the off-season by the Ravens should be beneficial to Lamar Jackson fantasy output.
