Dion Waiters Is Going To The Lakers…So What?

Dion Waiters is going to the Lakers…honestly, who the fuck cares?! People are acting like Dion Waiters is a 20 PPG scorer and he’s never been close to that. The Lakers weren’t Championship Contenders before for me, and the signing of Waiters doesn’t change that for me. I will say that the Waiters acquisition does help the Lakers in one of their needs: a scorer. But, even then, it is still Dion Waiters. Dion is a bit of a meme in the NBA, after his…colorful history already in the NBA.

Dion Waiters Stats

Dion Waiters hasn’t averaged more than 16 PPG in a season ever in his career. He’s got close, but that was in 2017 as one of the main guys in Miami. As a 3rd or 4th option for the Lakers, he won’t get over 15 PPG a lot. You’re telling me that Waiters is going to be the reason the Lakers will win a championship? Yeah, right. Even in his best season, which was that 2017 season, he only averaged 4.3 APG and 3.3 RPG along with his 15.8 PPG. He shot 42.4% that year, which isn’t bad, but just average.

The Lakers Aren’t As Good As You Think

Laker fans make me laugh, Waiters isn’t going to make that much of a difference for the Lakers. Other than Lebron James and Anthony Davis, who are playing extremely well this season, the Lakers don’t have any game changers. Kyle Kuzma? Now Dion Waiters? Yeah, give me a break. The only reason why the Lakers have such a great record is because of their easy schedule this season. Dion is going to the Lakers, so what? The Lakers still aren’t winning a championship. If you think they are honestly going to win the championship, I heavily recommended watching the NBA a little bit closer.
