Here at Vendetta Sports Media, we will run through each team’s war room heading into the 2020 NFL Draft. What is your favorite team thinking going into the draft? We will start with the defending Super Bowl champion, Kansas City Chiefs. Let’s take a look at what they should be thinking during the 2020 NFL Draft.

Those are the picks that the Chiefs own. They received the 49ers pick in the Dee Ford trade but shipped out their 2nd rounder for Frank Clark. The Chiefs also traded their 6th round pick for Darron Lee and their 7th rounder for Jordan Lucas.
The Chiefs don’t have a lot of holes on the roster. One place that would make a lot of sense would be to attack the running back position. It’s all about managing the board. What if D’Andre Swift falls to 32? Imagine that offense. With Patrick Mahomes, let’s find more pieces to make his life easier. You name it, I think the Chiefs would be wise to grab one of the top backs in the draft to pair with Damien Williams. Give the Chiefs a reliable running game and this offense gets that much better.
There are two other needs on the roster. Kansas City has to replace Kendall Fuller who left via free agency and to replace Terrell Suggs. KC needs defensive help first and foremost. Here are some targets that could make sense.
It looks like a deep corner draft. Someone like Kristian Fulton could fall to 32. Who knows? Fulton can play man or zone and thrives in press. Could be a fit in any system.
Those middle picks should be used on pass rush help. Frank Clark can only do so much. Bradlee Anae could be an option. Curtis Weaver and or Anfernee Jennings could be other options.
The formula is simple for the Chiefs. This is a Super Bowl team for a reason driven by a dynamic offense. Continue to tinker with the offense while bettering the defense as much as possible. A better running game and plug and play defensive starters is a good place to get started.
