Colin Cowherd may have tweeted out one of the dumbest tweets of the 2019-20 NBA season. The Los Angeles Lakers were just barely able to squeak out a win against the Boston Celtics. It was an entertaining game, with Celtics forward Jayson Tatum dropping 41 on LeBron’s head. A lot of stupid things are said during a nationally televised game, but Cowherd takes the grand prize tonight.
That was a few hours ago and we are still waiting on the more. Know why we are waiting? It’s because the NBA has NEVER been against the Lakers. If anything, the league will do everything in its power to make sure the Lakers succeed. Just watch the final minute of that Lakers-Celtics game. Every call, or lack thereof, went the way of the Lakers. LeBron can cuss out and cry like a baby to the refs and nothing will happen, but Celtics coach Brad Stevens raises his voice once and gets a technical foul in one of the more crucial parts of the game.
Don’t let Colin fool you, there is a double standard in the NBA when it comes to its stars. LeBron and the Lakers will always get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to calls, especially as the game gets closer to the end. If the Lakers are doing well, then the NBA is doing well. It has always been that way. Why then would Colin say the league has it out for the NBA? Simple, Colin is an LA guy who will always take the side of LA teams. I can’t blame him, LA is where he lives. He continues to hype up Jared Goff of the Los Angeles Rams, who is not a great quarterback. He preached the greatness of LA to LeBron as a free agent destination because of the city, not because of what the Lakers organization was building.
Colin Cowherd has become one of the biggest names in the sports media industry. This tweet was a bad take from the start and it was proven more so as the game went on. Do better Colin.
