Tua Tagovailoa to the Cowboys? The former Alabama signal caller is the hot topic of conversation and we still don’t have a clear destination yet. Could you imagine if he somehow ends up in Dallas? The NFL universe would explode. In a recent interview with NFL.com, if Tua has a preference, it would be Dallas.
It was more so him just saying that he grew up a Cowboys fan, not so much declaring he prefers the Cowboys. That’s something that had been documented before. What if we can actually make this happen? It would be difficult considering the Cowboys have the 17th pick, but it’s not impossible.
Tag Dak, trade Dak, use those picks to move up for Tua. It’s doable, but not probable. There’s no question the Cowboys would be amazing for Tua Tagovailoa. It’s better than Detroit. Can you imagine him with that offensive line and weapons? It would allow the Cowboys to pay everyone while having Tua on a rookie contract too.
Of course, we’re still early in the process. Still, it doesn’t seem likely that he makes it out of the top 5. If the Lions don’t take him, someone will trade up ahead of Miami to get the job done. Then again, weird things to happen. Maybe someone will think Justin Herbert is better? There are always surprised on draft day.
The Cowboys are in a dangerous spot. If they pay Dak Prescott more than Carson Wentz, they will never beat Philadelphia. You can’t compete. The Tua scenario seems crazy, but it gives Dallas the only pathway to actually win a Super Bowl. You’re inserting a young Russell Wilson onto that team? Let’s make it happen.
