Le’Veon Bell won’t stop talking. All Bell has done this year is stink and cause problems. Bell wants you to know that he wants to be part of the Jets rebuild despite the fact that nobody in the organization seems to want him, outside of the fired Mike McCagnan.
Bell spoke to reporters and made it known he wants to be with the Jets long term:
“I wouldn’t have signed here for four years if I didn’t want to be here four years,” Bell said Friday.
“When I did sign here, I didn’t expect us to go 16-0, you know what I’m saying?” Bell said. “I knew it would be a process. I understand everything. We got a young quarterback, a whole group of guys coming in — new offensive coordinators, head coaches. … I understand what goes on. It’s not like basketball. You can’t take one or two guys and change a team.”
Here’s the stat of the day. Le’Veon Bell is averaging 3.3 yards per carry. Derrick Henry is averaging 4.1 yards per carry AFTER CONTACT. Bell is legitimately the single worst running back in football and all this guy does is talk about nonsense. We just gotta stop giving this guy attention because he’s not a good football player anymore. He’s done his best impression of Maurice Clarett.
Bell, 28, is owed due to make a fully guaranteed $13.5 million in 2020. Whether the Jets move on or keep Bell, they are stuck paying him. There are no guarantees in the 3rd and 4th years of the deal so they most likely will move on then. Either way, please Jets, do something smart. Please start helping Sam Darnold. Paying Le’Veon Bell was always a bad idea. Of course, the Jets were the team that was dumb enough to do it.
