Jerry Thornton Wrote The Dumbest Blog Ever About Chandler Jones

Yesterday, I put a Tweet out that needs to be said more. Then prodigy, Ball Busters followed with a similar tweet.

You don’t have to be a fanboy all the time. You don’t have to brainwash yourself just because he’s on your team. It would be like being a German citizen and blindly following whatever Hitler says because he’s the leader of the country. You don’t have to blindly agree with whatever your favorite team does. Stop acting like a 5 year old. Do better, people.

Enter Jerry Thornton who epitomizes everything I just said. Thornton can only be described as the annoying Patriots homer for Barstool. I’m not a person that hates the Patriots. I have tremendous respect for Bill Belichick. They should rename the Super Bowl Trophy after him. He’s built an unbelievable culture that will probably never be replicated. As far as Jerry’s blogs are concerned, most of the time I just take them for what they are. Overly biased towards the Pats but it is what it is.

This one I cannot let slide. This is so dumb that Jerry needs to be taken down. I won’t turn a blind eye to this one. Jerry Thornton recently wrote a blog that was titled: “If You’re Saying the Patriots Should Regret Trading Chandler Jones, You are the WORST”. I’m being serious. He actually wrote that.

I don’t have to say much here. The comment section pretty much wraps up most of it.

Not kidding. That’s the entire list of comments. Chandler Jones has 19 sacks and 8 forced fumbles on the season. You can make the argument he is the most feared pass rusher on the planet. Over the last 3 years, Jones has 49 sacks. The scary part is the Cardinals suck and never have the lead creating far fewer pass rushing opportunities. Chandler Jones is a monster.

Thornton tries to make the argument that he prefers Kyle Van Noy with his 6.5 sacks because the Patriots don’t value sacks. K. You don’t have to be a fanboy, Jerry. It’s ok to acknowledge that Bill Belichick doesn’t walk on water. It’s ok to acknowledge that he’s made his fair share of mistakes. Trading away Chandler Jones sure as hell is one of them.

Belichick traded away Chandler Jones for Jonathan Cooper (a total bust), and a 2nd round pick. That later turned into Malcolm Mitchell (out of the league) and Joe Thuney. Sure, Thuney is a nice guard, he’s no Chandler Jones.

Most of the players that Belichick trades away get worse. Jones wasn’t a product of the Pats. He’s just a freak of nature. Jon Jones is his brother. Chandler is just the pass rushing version of him. Chandler Jones should win Defensive player of the year and the Patriots gave him up for a middle tier guard and two busts. Yup, Bill fucked that one up. You don’t have to be a fanboy, Jerry. It’s ok to be honest sometimes.
