It is hard to find someone around the NBA that has something bad to say about Kendrick Perkins. Considered by everyone he has played with as the “leagues best teammate” it is to no surprise that he is growing in the sports media world. For those that are not aware, Kendrick Perkins has signed to become an NBA analyst solely for ESPN.
This will not be his first go at doing basketball analysis as last spring he was doing freelance work with both FS1 and ESPN.
This is big for ESPN as Perkins has strong connections around the league that has allowed him to break big news before others. Kendrick will spend time reporting on all NBA platforms that you see on ESPN, but his main focus will be working the digital show “Hoop Streams.” Hoop Streams is a 30-minute show that goes live on Twitter just before a big game airs on ESPN or their partner ABC. Usually on Saturday nights, and throughout the NBA playoffs.
The best part about Kendrick Perkins being aired full time on ESPN is that he doesn’t sugar coat his stuff. He is going to tell things how it is and be straight up with people. Give it a few months and I am sure they will transition him into a pregame role knocking around the nonsense that is Paul Pierce.
Along with Perkins and Pierce, ESPN currently has 38 other employees that cover the NBA. It won’t take Perkins long to get noticed by the media world for his expertise in the game and the no-nonsense he reports with. It’ll help cancel out people like Scottie Pippen who one-minute thinks LeBron is the GOAT but the next he loves MJ.
