Kevin Durant Exchanges Words Over Brooklyn Nets Tenure

Kevin Durant is beefing with someone on Twitter. Where have you heard that before? This time around, the Slim Reaper had some words for Brooklyn Nets fans.

The whole exchange started during Game 4 of the Finals Friday night. In particular, it was when Bruce Brown closed it out with some truly amazing buckets. Durant’s business partner Eddie Gonzalez reacted to it on his own Twitter page.

Seemingly harmless enough, right? Not for some people. Of course someone sent a shot KD’s way as a result of the Nets not bringing Brown back ahead of the 2022-23 season. In a since deleted tweet, Durant shot straight back at him.

Durant was a man of his word and took the tweets down. But Nets fans should have at least one reason to celebrate. Despite being a toenail away from a 2021 championship, Brooklyn easily won the trade that sent Durant to the Phoenix Suns, receiving four first round picks to go with a very exciting forward duo in Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges.

Bridges, the former Villanova standout, has become the centerpiece of the return, as he is undoubtedly the most durable player in the NBA. In an era of players taking games off for load management, Bridges led the NBA in minutes. Furthermore, he became only the 42nd player in NBA history to play at least 83 games in an 82-game regular season.

To say he hit the ground running at Barclays Center is also an understatement. As a Net, Bridges’ scoring average went up almost nine whole points compared to his time in Phoenix.

Sour Grapes For All

It’s safe to say that both the Nets and Suns have work to do. Brooklyn fans will have to wait until they have another real shot at winning a title like they did in 2021. Meanwhile, the Suns will have quite a new look this season after waiving Chris Paul. Both will be playoff teams in all likelihood, but they may not be at the very top of the list of contenders in the NBA right now.

Kevin Durant and Twitter are a match made in heaven. The former MVP showed yet again why that is the case in a war of words with a fan. However, in the court of public opinion, people will always hold something against KD.
