2024 Fantasy Baseball OnlyFans: Starting Pitchers

Slowly and surely Vendetta Sports Media will establish itself as the premier go to site for fantasy sports. You can laugh at that statement all you want but the evidence doesn’t lie. I own fantasy hockey (RIP Sean Allen). Matthew Berry was embarrassed. In 2024 we’re throwing our hat in the fantasy baseball realm and the OnlyFans series will return to cover MLB.

For now, I don’t have anything against ESPN’s fantasy baseball department. Time will tell if that changes. In the meantime, I’m just going to give you sleepers (OnlyFans) for each position. These players in order to qualify have to be ranked outside the top 200 overall players.

*Link to ESPN rankings. They constantly change so don’t shoot the messenger if they’re updated after publication.

Justin Verlander (Houston Astros) – SP63, 203rd overall

Should I really over-panic about an early-season IL stint? Who cares? Put him on an IR spot and reap the rewards later. At the end of the day, this is still Justin Verlander. His last full season in Houston, the guy pitched to a 1.75 ERA. If this is the ranking for what it costs to draft Verlander, consider him in my queue already ready to go when the time comes.

MacKenzie Gore (Washington Nationals) -SP73, 229nd overall

It takes pitchers time to figure things out. I just think the Washington Nationals are turning a corner and this is the last chance you will ever get to steal this guy. This was the main piece of the first Juan Soto trade. This guy was supposed to be viewed as untouchable three years ago. What if 2024 is the breakout year? Thinking chronologically, it would make a lot of sense. He’s a talented lefty with great extension and plus velocity. The better question is, why can’t this happen?

Gavin Williams (Cleveland Guardians) -SP75, 235th overall

Revert to my post about AL Central breakout stars. After a great showing as a rookie, the 6-foot-6 hurler looks like a future big time pitcher. Invest now before it’s too late.

Tanner Houck (Boston Red Sox) -SP80, 257th overall

Is Houck a starter? Is Houck a reliever? We have done this song and dance so many times it’s exhausting. All I’m going to say is Boston is desperate for starting pitching and I just think the talent is so good here that this is a great flier if it all comes together in 2024. If you’re keeping tabs on Spring Training, the reports on Houck suggest something has clicked and his velo is up. The slider is already filthy. I’m just saying…

Brayan Bello (Boston Red Sox) -SP82, 264th overall

Speaking of the Sox, this is supposed to be the ace of the staff. He’s already been extended. The team believes in him. Pedro Martinez believes in him. This will really be his second full season as a starter heading into age 25. We should be getting ready to enter the prime. That’s exactly why you should buy at this price.

Marcus Stroman (New York Yankees) -SP84, 267th overall

Call me crazy; I believe in Stroman. I think he’s a perfect fit for the Yankees and if you read this site long enough you know I can’t possibly be biased. He’s always wanted to be there and I think it will spark something in him. For this price, I think you can do far worse.

Max Scherzer (Texas Rangers) -SP102, Unranked

Scherzer looks like he’s in decline but he still had a 3.20 ERA with Texas. Last time I checked, they won the World Series. Wins should be on the table. His K per 9 rate hasn’t fallen totally off a cliff either. The Rangers obviously still think he can pitch or they wouldn’t have given up Acuna for him. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt on it. I’ll take Scherzer for free.

Alek Manoah (Toronto Blue Jays -SP115, Unranked

One year makes a big difference. Last year I think Manoah went in the top 50 for our draft last year. This year he’s unraked. Can the guy just be somewhere in the middle? I don’t even need the 2.24 ERA season from 2022. Give me a 3.24 ERA and fantasy owners who take the risk will be very happy.

Taj Bradley (Tampa Bay Rays) -SP119, Unranked

It was a nightmare season for Bradley as a rookie. I used him a bunch as a daily streamer and it backfired plenty. However, he was still a Rays top prospect and maybe we should expect better results heading into his age 23 season. It can’t get worse, right? Plus, someone weird for Tampa is always destined to breakout. Maybe this is the guy right here.

John Means (Baltimore Orioles) -SP122, Unranked

I can’t quite figure this one out. John Means is good. Not sure what else there is to say. Doesn’t strike a ton of guys out but health has been his biggest hurdle. He’s good every time they ask him to pitch. To get a slice of this young Orioles team? I’ll take the shot that Means finally stays healthy. If he does, this is the steal of all steals.
