2024 Fantasy Baseball OnlyFans: Shortstop

Slowly and surely Vendetta Sports Media will establish itself as the premier go to site for fantasy sports. You can laugh at that statement all you want but the evidence doesn’t lie. I own fantasy hockey (RIP Sean Allen). Matthew Berry was embarrassed. In 2024 we’re throwing our hat in the fantasy baseball realm and the OnlyFans series will return to cover MLB.

For now, I don’t have anything against ESPN’s fantasy baseball department. Time will tell if that changes. In the meantime, I’m just going to give you sleepers (OnlyFans) for each position. These players in order to qualify have to be ranked outside the top 200 overall players.

*Link to ESPN rankings. They constantly change so don’t shoot the messenger if they’re updated after publication.

Oneil Cruz (Pittsburgh Pirates) -SS21, 227th overall

Talked a bit about this on the NL Central breakout post. I like the play here. Pirates are starting to turn the corner too. When a talent like this is free, I’ll take my chances.

Jeremy Pena (Houston Astros) -SS24, 276th overall

Chalk up some of the struggles to a sophomore slump? I think that’s very possible. The power numbers dipped from his rookie season. If he can get back into a 25 home run guy while playing for this team, there should be way more upside here compared to where he’s being ranked.

Trevor Story (Boston Red Sox) -SS29, unranked

I understand being down on Trevor Story, but I draw the line at him being two spots higher on the shortstop list than Javier Baez. Story has had a great Spring too (.350 in 15 games). The only thing that sucks about taking the risk here is you know the strikeouts are going to be there. If the guy is healthy, maybe peak Story can come in clutch with another good season. If so, the power and stolen base numbers could be there and make him a total steal.

Jorge Mateo (Baltimore Orioles) -SS48, unranked

This is the hidden king of stolen bases. 32 last year and 35 the year before. He’s going to have a role because of the base running ability. Good team to be part of. Heading into his age 29 season, if you’re ever going to take the risk on the guy getting on base a bit more, it’s when he’s playing for a team like this. Had a really hot April last year. It’s not like he sucks or Jackson Holliday would have been on the team already…
