2023 NFL Draft War Room: Miami Dolphins
Getting stripped of your first round draft pick sucks but it happened. Miami gave the other first round pick away for Bradley Chubb. The Dolphins are still an improving football team and aren’t that far away. It’s time to put the finishing touches around Tua Tagovailoa. We’ll do the best we can with the draft ammo we have. Here is your Miami Dolphins 2023 NFL Draft War Room!
- Round 2, Pick 51
- Round 3, Pick 84 (from NE)
- Round 6, Pick 178 (from CHI)
- Round 7, Pick 240
What can I really say? Chris Grier has sent his draft picks into outer space. You’re hoping for best available and crossing your fingers. The way the cards fell in this one, maybe Dolphin fans will be happy. Finding additional weapons to further help Tua makes a lot of sense. After all, it really is the Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle show. A third target to get in the mix would be an embarrassment of riches.
Mike Gesicki is also gone. Durham Smythe is the only guy they got. Remember, Mike McDaniel wants someone that can block at the position. Not sure one of the top guys will be there but getting your tight end of the future at 51 has to be under consideration.
Getting extra offensive line help has to be another priority. It’s not necessarily a patch work unit anymore but it’s far from elite. Terron Armstead is really the only elite player on the line. Robert Hunt is good. The rest could easily be replaced. Using one of those picks on someone that can protect Tua has to be a priority.
Given the lack of draft capital, what else can Miami really do?
