Manchester United agree to loan deal for Marcel Sabitzer
Manchester United and Bayern Munich have agreed to a loan for midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. The English club has had their eyes on him for a few weeks but had to go after him following an injury to Christian Eriksen. Sabitzer will fit in with United as he can play a multitude of positions around the midfield and attack. According to Fabrizio Romano, a big part of the move for Sabitzer is that he will be playing under Erik ten Hag.
Nottingham Forest push for Keylor Navas loan
Three-time Champions League winner Keylor Navas has been a target of Nottingham Forest this transfer window. And according to Fabrizio Romano, the English side is making another push for the PSG goalkeeper. The push comes following an injury to starting keeper Dean Henderson. The move would benefit both club and player as Forest needs a keeper amidst a relegation battle, and Navas has only made two appearances for PSG this season.
Arsenal to sign Jorginho
Premier League leaders, Arsenal, are looking to improve their midfield by signing Jorginho from rivals Chelsea. According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is for around £12 million and will last until June 2024, but there is an option to keep the Italian until 2025. This move comes after Arsenal’s pursuit of Brighton’s Moises Caicedo seemed to come to an end.
Barcelona in talks to sign MLS starlet Julian Araujo
With the likelihood that Héctor Bellerín will be moving to Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona is looking to sign LA Galaxy right-back Julian Araujo as his replacement. According to an ESPN report, the Spanish side is looking for a loan with an option to buy the 21-year-old Mexican international. This move is huge for Barcelona as they do not have a true right-back with the exception of Bellerín. The only question is will they be allowed to sign anyone after being unable to even register the new contract of midfield star Gavi due to La Liga’s salary limits?
Pedro Porro arrives in London for a medical ahead of Tottenham move
Sporting Lisbon right back, Pedro Porro, has gone to London to complete his medical ahead of a likely move to Tottenham. The BBC confirmed the news and mentioned that the deal will initially be a loan with an obligation to buy the defender for roughly $49m when the summer transfer window opens. The 23-year-old Spanish international has spent time around the Premier League before when he was a player at Manchester City. However, he did not play a match for Man City.
Chelsea near to signing Enzo Fernandez
After his impressive World Cup, Benfica’s Enzo Fernández has been highly sought after. Chelsea leads the chase and seems to be one step closer to signing the Argentine after making a latest offer of £105.6m or $130m. This would be a Premier League record signing. Up until this point Benfica has been very reluctant to sell their midfielder until the summer transfer window opens. This kind of buy would also question Chelsea’s standings under the Financial Fair Play rules since they have spent over half a billion dollars on new signings since the 2022 summer window.
Bayern Munich sign João Cancelo on loan from Manchester City
It is now official that Manchester City full-back João Cancelo is going on loan to Bundesliga leaders, Bayern Munich. The deal has an option to make the loan become a full transfer in the summer for roughly $76m. The signing of Cancelo immediately upgrades the Bayern defensive line. The Portuguese international has been considered one of the best players at his position in the world for the past few years, but he has seen a drastic lack of minutes as of late. Over the last 14 matches, Cancelo has started in just five of them.
Leeds United sign U.S. international Weston McKennie.
Leeds United has signed midfielder Weston McKennie from Juventus on loan for the remainder of the Premier League season. The English side is paying a fee of around $1.85m but has the option to buy McKennie for $43.12m in the summer transfer window. McKennie joins familiar company at Leeds, with USMNT teammates Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson both playing for the Yorkshire club.
