2021 NFL Draft War Room: Las Vegas Raiders

2021 NFL Draft
When the Las Vegas Raiders turn their cards in for the 2021 NFL Draft, who will they target? Let’s head inside the war room! (Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

Let’s be honest; the Raiders will find a way to screw this puppy up somehow. The Jon Gruden – Mike Mayock regime has proven they can’t draft. The 2021 NFL Draft will likely prove no different. It will be difficult to project what this crew has planned, but I’ll try anyway. Let’s head inside that Las Vegas war room.

  • Round 1, Pick No. 17
  • Round 2, Pick No. 48
  • Round 3, Pick No. 79 (ARI)
  • Round 3, pick No. 80
  • Round 4, Pick No. 121
  • Round 5, Pick No. 162 (MIA)
  • Round 5, Pick No. 167 (SEA)

The Raiders have seven picks but they’re in a bit of a better spot than just sitting tight. They’ve given up 6th and 7th round picks really for no reason. However, they’ve collected a third for Rodney Hudson, a 5th in the Lynn Bowden deal, and a 5th in the Gabe Jackson trade. I’m not sure any of those deals are wise but that’s why Vegas has those extra picks.

Could the Raiders think tackle? After trading Trent Brown, it’s something Las Vegas could consider. Are we confident Brandon Parker is good enough or can they land a better option in the first round? Christian Darrisaw at Virginia Tech is a tackle that could be on the board at 17. He’s capable of playing either side which is vital after the Raiders gave Kolten Miller a pretty penny.

Something called Dallin Leavitt is listed as a starter right now. That can’t happen. Oregon safety Jevon Holland would fit in well. I’m a fan of Holland who had ball production in college. He feels like a great fit next to someone like John Abram who we know can’t cover.

The Cory Littleton signing has not worked. When I say not worked, that’s being nice. Taking a flier on Dylan Moses could pay dividends. Moses would have been a first round pick if it weren’t for nagging injuries that have killed his career. If Moses pans out, it’s a huge lift to a linebacker unit that needs help.
