2021 NFL Draft

The Kansas City Chiefs may have lost the Super Bowl, but we know they’re not going anywhere. One strong draft and the Chiefs can find themselves right back as championship favorites. Let’s go through the 2021 NFL Draft War Room of the Chiefs to see who they may select when they’re on the clock.

  • Round 1, Pick 31
  • Round 2, Pick 63
  • Round 3, Pick 94
  • Round 4, Pick 136
  • Round 4, Pick 144
  • Round 5, Pick 175
  • Round 5, Pick 181
  • Round 6, Pick 207

Did the Chiefs tip their hand? Think about what just happened. The Chiefs lost the Super Bowl and mainly never had a chance because they went out there with two back up tackles. This offseason, KC then cut Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz. Maybe they bring one back. Maybe they sign another veteran option. OR… maybe they really like the tackles in this draft.

Alex Leatherwood at Alabama could be the play. Leatherwood has experience playing left and right tackle. Leatherwood was a big time recruit and checks in at 6-foot-6, 320. It feels like late round one and early round two would be his landing spot too.

Point being, the best tackle available at 31 could easily be the pick here for KC. Also… why not double down? Take another one at 63 too. Someone like James Hudson at Cincinnati could be a fit. Our guy Brendan Heffernan wrote up his draft profile and comes with big time potential.

In the middle rounds, KC should be looking at depth wide receivers, pass rushers, linebackers, and corners. It’s not really a secret. This Chiefs defense is far from perfect. They also need to find another reliable wide out behind Tyreek Hill.
