The Los Angeles Chargers hold the 6th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. We know the deal with the Chargers. They will take a quarterback. It’s a matter of who and will it involved a trade to do so? Well, I sort of buried the lead so, let’s get right to it. What will the Chargers do during the 2020 NFL Draft? Let’s go to the War Room!
There are 3 scenarios for the Chargers. ESPN has spent the last 3 months talking about the same thing but that’s why they’re ESPN.
Those are your options. How many days are you going to talk about the same thing? The funny part is none of it will matter until Anthony Lynn gets fired.
When we get to the 2nd round, I think there are needs along the offensive line. The Russell Okung trade created a hole at left tackle. Bryan Bulaga was signed to play the right side. Sam Tevi and Trey Pipkins should never see the field again. Josh Jones could be a pick at the top of the 2nd. Jones had a great Senior Bowl and should be a plug and play left tackle. I think he would be the dream scenario assuming the Chargers get their quarterback at 6.
In the 3rd round, replacing Melvin Gordon makes some sense. Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson are a nice combo but neither should be counted on for a large workload. Adding another name to the group feels right. Someone like Clyde Edwards-Helaire makes sense who can do it all. Run, block, and catch. The LSU running back seems like a dangerous pass catching version of Maurice Jones-Drew. Now that’s a running back group.
