2020 NFL Draft War Room: Las Vegas Raiders

2020 NFL Draft

The Josh Jacobs pick turned out well for the Raiders. Let’s head inside the Vegas 2020 NFL Draft War Room to see who they may pick this year! (Kirby Lee/USA Today)

The Raiders head into the 2020 NFL Draft with a new city and stadium. Now it’s the Las Vegas Raiders and the future of the franchise starts now. The Raiders head into the draft with 2 first round picks. That gives them the flexibility to go a number of different directions. Let’s take a look inside the Raiders draft war room to see what they may do!

The last fruits of the Khalil Mack trade are here. The 19th pick in the first round comes from the Bears in the Mack trade. The Raiders own first round pick sits at 12. Vegas doesn’t even own a 2nd round pick because of that Mack trade. They do have three 3rd round picks that sit at 80, 81, and 91 overall. That will be the focus of this post.

My guess is that if Jerry Jeudy is there at 12, they take him. I referenced this in a prior mailbag. Jeudy would replace what Antonio Brown would have given them in terms of route running and speed. He has to be their dream scenario.

I also really think the Raiders are eyeing Jordan Love. Doesn’t it feel like Jon Gruden would do anything to land a player like Patrick Mahomes? In this case, Love isn’t nearly as talented but you can see Gruden talking himself into it. I really think if Jordan Love or Justin Herbert falls in the draft, the Raiders will take them here.

In the third round, look for at least one offensive lineman. Kolton Miller is no sure thing at left tackle and Richie Incognito doesn’t have a ton of years left. Darryl Williams out of Mississippi State could be an option. Trey Adams of Washington could be under consideration. His stock was high earlier in his college career and injuries seemed to wreck his abililty. Not my kind of guy but he will be among the options in the 3rd round.
