You’re An Idiot If You Pass On Tua Tagovailoa Part 2

You’re An Idiot If You Pass On Tua Tagovailoa Part 2

Not too long ago I wrote a post that was titled: “You’re An Idiot If You Pass On Tua Tagovailoa”. I feel so strongly about it that I need another post just to iterate it. Of course, the first post came before the injury but it still doesn’t change my thought process. You have to be one of the dumbest people on the planet to pass on Tua. Forget about the injury. This is one of the best prospects to come out of the draft ever.

Tua Tagovailoa owns a career passing efficiency mark of 199.4. That’s the highest mark in the history of FBS football. Let me repeat that. Tua Tagovailoa is the most efficient passer in the history of college football. You go ahead and pass on that. I’m not dumb enough to pass on that.

So let me get this straight. You’re going to take Joe Burrow. The same guy who had to transfer because he couldn’t beat of Dwayne Haskins at Ohio State. This is the same guy who doesn’t get picked a year ago and now had a magical 5th-year senior season. You go ahead and take that. You go ahead and take Justin Herbert who couldn’t complete 60 percent of his throws a year ago and had the best offensive line in college football. You go ahead and pick a better or worse version of Josh Allen. I’ll take left handed Russell Wilson.

Listen, you can talk about the injury all you want. That’s fine. I just want you to think about this. If I told you that Deshaun Watson would tear his ACL in college and then do it again in the pro’s would you pass on him? NO, you wouldn’t because the talent is too undeniable. But, hey, you go ahead and take Mitch Trubisky instead. Myles Jack and Jaylon Smith fell in the second round because of injuries. Look at how stupid that looks now. CJ Mosley broke his hip too. He’s an $85 million linebacker. Gordon Hayward and Paul George broke their legs. You would still give them the max. Don’t be paralyzed by an injury. You’re going to look stupid.

The same Elite 11 camp people that sung high praises for Deshaun Watson are the same ones singing that song for Tua. He’s significantly better than any quarterback in the draft. If Trevor Lawrence was in the draft that’s a different story. If Justin Fields was in the draft that’s a different story. Joe Burrow is the main competition who has one good year sample size and needed a new offensive coordinator to make the leap. Tua was putting up video game numbers with drunk Steve Sarkisian.

Don’t be dumb. Get ahead of this now while you still can. Somebody like Minnesota, New England, etc is going to get their hands on him that otherwise wouldn’t have. Cincinnati and Miami is career suicide. Just ask Josh Rosen. You don’t pass on generational talents. But go ahead, be that guy. It’s why the teams that are picking at the top of the draft seem to do so every year.
