WrestleMania 39 is starting to feel like it could be the biggest WrestleMania in WWE history. WWE WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year for the company. It’s a showcase of the immortals, where rivalries come head-to-head and dream-like matches are made into a reality. WWE often holds WrestleMania events on the biggest stages in the world. WrestleMania 39 goes to Hollywood on April first and second, but many fans have already secured their ticket to the show. In fact, WrestleMania 39 broke an all-time record in WWE.

WrestleMania 39 Breaks All-Time Gate Record

WrestleMania 39 has officially broken the all-time gate record for WrestleMania events. WWE announced this in a press release today. The previous gate record for WrestleMania events was held by WrestleMania 32, which was at $17.3 million. Although WWE hasn’t specified exactly what the number is, the record has been broken. 2022 marked a big year for WWE as they saw some other records get broken as well. The company had one of its best years in ticket sales in 2022.

The record gate comes on the heels of unprecedented ticket sales demand for WWE in 2022, in which it produced the highest-grossing gates of all-time for Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Extreme Rules. Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, which marked WWE’s first major stadium show in the U.K. in 30 years, was the highest-grossing U.K. event in company history.

Furthermore, WWE also set in-market records for their weekly shows, Friday Night Smackdown and Monday Night Raw. One of them was the December 30th episode of Friday Night Smackdown, where John Cena made his highly anticipated in-ring return.

What makes this record even more astonishing is that we are three months away from WrestleMania 39 and there isn’t a single match announced for the card as of yet. So this just goes to show how big of an event this is. This year, WrestleMania has all of the potential to be the biggest event in WWE’s history. So with the rumors of John Cena potentially wrestling, plus the Rock returning, WrestleMania 39 has all of the ingredients to be the biggest wrestling event in history.
