Wonder Woman 1984 Review

Wonder Woman 1984
Wonder Woman 1984 left a bad taste in my mouth. Let’s review the film after I watched it on HBO Max. It’s not one I’d recommend. (Clay Enos | Warner Bros)

I blame Mitch Trubisky and the Bears for this. During the middle of the Bears and Saints game, we weighed our options. Watch the Bears continue to get pummeled or watch Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max? I might have been better watching the rest of the Bears game.

I try to write these movies without giving away spoilers and avoiding the cliche movie reviews. Nobody cares what the film critics think. Most of what the film critics like isn’t what real people like.

However, I’m not sure I can avoid writing this one without spoilers. The truth of the matter is, this movie stinks. I have not seen the first Wonder Woman but I know the 2nd one stinks.

There is no denying that Gal Gadot is great but we need more than that to make a great movie. The movie could have been great but the overall story and plot sucked.

Let’s cut right through the BS and get to what you really need to know. They find a magical gem, people make wishes, then realize the wishes have unintended consequences so they take them back. That’s the movie. Don’t believe it? Watch for yourself. THAT’S THE MOVIE.

Even if you’re someone that enjoyed the first part of the movie, the end is so bad that it’s impossible to come away satisfied. They needed to pick a different story to the entire movie. The concept of Wonder Woman should be fire. The actress has the it but the plot is a sinking ship from the start.

That’s all I got. It wasn’t a zero star movie but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I sure as hell could have gone without seeing it.
