The DeAndre Hopkins era in Arizona has finally passed over, and now it’s getting good once again. Arizona released their superstar wide receiver last week after being unable to find a trade partner. Now, the hunt for Hopkins has begun, but where should the superstar go? My pick, Hopkins has to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, and here’s why.
Hopkins is at the point of his career where he doesn’t want the money, but success. The 30-year-old receiver hasn’t found much success in his career outside of individual accomplishments, playing in the playoffs six times in his 10-year career.
After being on the trade block for a while, the Cardinals were not able to complete a trade with Hopkins. So that begs the question, is Hopkins a problem? Or is the premium for a star receiver too high now?
Now, with entering free agency, Hopkins is in the driver seat for who he actually wants to play for. To check the boxes off for Hopkins, he needs: A good quarterback, good defense and a winning team. Boom, the Philadelphia Eagles are the perfect spot for Hopkins.
After spending one year in Philadelphia with Jalen Hurts, wide receiver A.J. Brown saw a massive increase in his production, and so could Hopkins. Brown set career highs in targets, receptions, touchdowns and receiving yards. That’s one check off the list.
Hopkins wants a winning team, and that’s what he’ll get in Philadelphia. After coming up just short in the Super Bowl last season, the Eagles are looking into this season for revenge. Last season, the Eagles finished 14-3 and marched their way to the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
To end it off, the Eagles have arguably the best defense in the NFL. Last season, the Eagles ranked No. 1 in yards against per game and opponent yards per play. Philadelphia also ranked in the top-10 in over 10 different defensive categories last season, plus they just added more power to their defense in the 2023 NFL Draft.
What do you think? Where should DeAndre Hopkins sign next? The Philadelphia Eagles or someone else? Let us know in the comments!
