Vince McMahon returned to professional wrestling headlines as rumors of him returning to WWE surfaced. However, those rumors became fact after McMahon did return to WWE on its Board of Directors. Upon returning, WWE’s stock skyrocketed up to $90, which is $20 more than it was prior to his return.
McMahon wanted to look into selling WWE but reportedly wouldn’t do so unless he was back with the company. Now that he’s back, WWE is on the market. They reportedly have a market value of over $5 billion.
2022 was a record-breaking year for the company in many different categories, so with the value this high, McMahon is looking to sell the WWE. But who will end up buying the company?
Let’s take a look at some betting odds.
Comcast appears to be the company most likely to purchase the WWE. They’re the favorites for many reasons, notably the fact that they have a working relationship with them.
One of WWE’s weekly shows, Raw, has been airing on the USA Network for a very long time. The USA Network is a part of NBC Universal, which is owned by Comcast. Furthermore, Comcast also owns Peacock, which is the official home of the WWE in the United States. Their entire library of content is on the platform, along with streaming the current premium live events.
Comcast is the heavy favorite to buy the company, according to Bovado.
Some other notable names on the list of companies and people who could buy the company are The Rock, Fox, Disney, Amazon, Netflix and even Tony Khan. It is going to be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
With WWE being such a historic and highly valued company, this will be a major sale in the business.
