Week 9 Herd Hierarchy: Colin Cowherd Has Lost His Mind

Week 9 Herd Hierarchy
Colin Cowherd has gone crazy. His Week 9 Herd Hierarchy is so flawed it’s incredible his reasoning makes no sense and he contradicts himself. (@TheHerd on Twitter)

Now I don’t do this often, but what the hell is Colin Cowherd thinking? His power rankings, or “Herd Hierarchy” as he likes to call them, make absolutely no sense. How do you have the NFL’s only undefeated team at number three? How do you place a team that barely beat the lowly New York Giants at number two? This list makes absolutely no sense, and I’m not letting him get away with it. The Week 9 Herd Hierarchy makes absolutely no sense, and Colin has officially lost his marbles.

Top Three Is Ridiculous

Colin Cowherd put the following teams in this order in his Week 9 Herd Hierarchy:

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (6-1)
  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2)
  3. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-0)

I’m not banging the table and calling Cowherd and idiot for having these teams as his top three teams in the National Football League; they’re all great teams. My issue comes from having the only undefeated team as the third-best team in the NFL. How does that make sense? I’m not saying the Pittsburgh Steelers have to be ranked as the best team in the league, but when a team is undefeated and beats a team like the Baltimore Ravens in an ugly game, you need to give them some respect.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are ranked too high because their game against the New York Giants came down to a defensive pass interference non-call that occurred when the Giants went for two to tie the game. To have a team like the New York Giants be in a position to tie a game late, and for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to only win by two is insane.

Cowherd’s reasoning for putting the Steelers at No. 3 was, “Can they blowout anybody?” The Steelers beat the Tennessee Titans, a team everyone was calling a contender, and the Baltimore Ravens, everyone was calling them a contender, by three and four points, respectively. Yet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can only beat the New York Giants by two points. Please don’t be mad at me for saying these things, be mad at Cowherd. I’m only using his logic against him.

The Pittsburgh Steelers deserve to be number one, but I understand if you think the Chiefs would be better. It’s your opinion. That’s fine if you can back it up. Using flawed reasoning and double standards to justify a 5-2 team being ranked higher than a 7-0 team is just insane. Colin Cowherd, you’ve lost your damn mind.
