Watch: Rockstar Releases First Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer

Gamers the time has finally come as the first trailer for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI has arrived. Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular video game franchises ever. The series originated in the 90s but then began to blow up in 2002 with Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and that game–along with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA V–were all developed by Rockstar Games.

Now, the landmark franchise is finally coming back around. It has been ten years since GTA V was released and 21 years since fans got to play in Vice City.

The trailer was packed with visuals that are staples of GTA such as flashy cars, beautiful skylines and intense crimes. The trailer shows off the nightlife, the beaches, the rich areas, the poor areas and the marshlands of Vice City.

This is a welcome sight for fans who loved the original PlayStation 2 and Xbox Vice City versions; the visuals are stunning, which is to be expected from a Rockstar Games title. The past GTA’s were in Liberty City (New York) and San Andreas (Los Angeles). Now, fans can be excited about the franchise’s return to Vice City (Miami). 

The trailer seemed to put a big focus on social media. A lot of the visuals of life in Vice City were shown in different types of social media posts. The phone has always been a big tool in GTA and players have been able to access multiple different pages on the internet. It will be interesting to see, after ten years between games, if the phone will have an even bigger impact in GTA VI. 

More Information on GTA VI:

Some things stood out in the first GTA VI trailer. The first thing that stood out was the trailer opening with what looks like a female protagonist. This has never happened in a GTA before so this would be a huge development. However, there were reports that this was the case earlier this year.

They suggested the game would take place in Vice City, which once again, seems correct. Furthermore, at the end of the trailer, it appears the female has a partner in crime in the form of her could be lover. This could mean that both characters will be playable similar to GTA V’s three perspective campaign.

Grand Theft Auto VI- What We Know and What We Want

Gamers everywhere should be happy that everyone finally got some new GTA content. This is the first trailer of many in the lengthy rollout that will be GTA VI. Unfortunately, fans do have to wait until 2025 before they can get their hands on the next installment of the franchise. However, I am very confident in Rockstar’s track record and I believe this could be one of the biggest games of all time.
