Champions League has been an absolute mess. Playing in a neutral venue with only one leg has been an absolute trip up for almost everyone. Here is an update on the Vendetta Champions League Pool.
I’ll come right out and say it- Juventus screwed us all over. Manchester City was also a big hiccup in our plans. This has made the scores very close.
The way we did our points was that we gave three points for if you guessed who would win the Round of 16 games. Another three points if you guessed who moved through. Then for quarterfinals, it was worth five points. The semi-finals were seven points, and choosing the final winner gives you nine points.
With PSG and Bayern Munich going through, it has added a lot of points for some people. This has also made the race to be the winner very close.
Serenity: 45
Jackson: 43
Alex: 38
Trey: 33
Paul: 27
Gavin: 26
Jordan: 21
So Jordan has successfully taken last since he can’t gain any more points. He had Juventus and PSG in the final match with Juve to win it all. This means that there is no way for Jordan to make up any ground since he didn’t choose PSG to win.
Gavin has taken second to last. He had Man City and Atletico Madrid in the final. Both teams have been eliminated, so Gavin has no way to get points.
Now it gets tricky because everyone is close in points. So if PSG takes it all then Trey, Alex and Jackson have the chance to move up points. Jackson would be the winner of the Vendetta Champions League Pool. This would then put the standings at:
Jackson: 52
Alex: 47
Serenity: 45
Trey: 42
Paul: 27
Gavin: 26
Jordan: 21
However, if Bayern wins it then Paul and Serenity would be able to move standings. Serenity would be the overall winner of the pool. This would then finalize the standings at:
Serenity: 54
Jackson: 43
Alex: 38
Paul: 36
Trey: 33
Gavin: 26
Jordan: 21
Overall, with how many upsets there was this competition, we did a good job. For the most part, the predictions were pretty accurate. Now it’s just time to wait and see who finishes on top.
