If you haven’t seen this Urban Meyer video… stop what you’re doing right now and watch it. It’s so insane that I genuinely thought it was a fake video. Watch the clip and then I’ll drop a few follow up thoughts to close things out.
A: I don’t think it’s possible to lack more self-awareness. Meyer went 2-11 with the Jaguars as the head coach and was run out of town before the season even ended. His tenure in Jacksonville was a complete failure. Nobody needs or wants Urban’s opinion here.
The only way to describe this video is a total lack of self-awareness. Urban had this job and single-handedly ruined the franchise. How does anybody take this guy seriously?
Does anybody remember how the Urban Meyer era ended? It was a joke!!!!
B: Coaches don’t bash other coaches. They have their own brotherhood. To do this unprompted is a wild move.
C: If you’re Ben Johnson, is this really the endorsement you want? I can guarantee Ben Johnson wants nothing to do with this endorsement. It would be like Pablo Sandoval campaigning for the future Red Sox third baseman. Totally insane.
D: Doug Pederson is still under contract and currently employed by the Jaguars.
E: Bill Belichick won six Super Bowls. Meyer is 2-11 at the NFL level. Maybe sit this one out, buddy.
The rumor on the street is that the former Florida and Ohio State coach was paid on Cameo to make this video. I don’t know if that makes this video better or worse. Probably worse considering that he’s made so much money as a head coach and now broadcasting. If he’s really that desperate for money with all that in mind, the guy has serious problems.
