Trevor Lawrence Doesn’t Want To Talk About His Future Anymore

Clemson Tigers star, Trevor Lawrence has been cleared for practice after missing two games due to COVID-19. We are all glad he is feeling better but…um….there’s been quite a bit of speculation this season about what Lawrence might do next year and his past comments have gotten him into a bit of a pickle.

He has one more season of NCAA eligibility but has also expressed interest in the NFL draft. However, with the way the NFL season has been going, Trevor Lawrence would more than likely end up with the New York Jets who have arguably the worst team in …….the whole entire world.

“I’m just trying to enjoy my last few months [at Clemson] if that’s what I decide to do,” Lawrence said. ” I’m not trying to make a stir. I don’t want any more people talking about me than they already are…I’m just never going to corner myself to where I have to [act] just because of something I said in the past.”

The intention of this statement was to prevent uproar and backlash, unfortunately, that’s exactly what it got. Is Lawrence avoiding the Jets? Will he return to the Tigers for a fourth season?

He said on Monday, after the Tigers lost to Notre Dame, that the seemingly backtracking statement wasn’t in avoidance but rather to leave himself some flexibility.

“My mindset is the same, but I really don’t want to talk about it anymore,” Lawrence said. “People want me to say, no matter what, for sure I’m leaving school, and that’s just not something I’m going to say. That’s as simple as it is. I’m never going to corner myself like that, but that’s what people want to hear…”

Lawrence also mentioned that it was very difficult to miss these last two games but he’s very excited to get back to work. Freshman QB, D.J. Uiagalelei stepped in for Trevor against Boston College and Notre Dame. On Saturday, he threw for 439 yards, a record against the Fighting Irish. Lawrence expressed how proud he was of D.J but also his eagerness to get back to his leading role.

Leading role as gorgeous QB for the stunningly triumphant Clemson Tigers? Media sweetheart keeping the sports world on the edge of their seats? Or secret agent for the CIA on assignment to distract US citizens from the recent bird battery swap?
