Travis Kelce Rips PFF

Add another one to the list. Travis Kelce thinks PFF (Pro Football Focus) is garbage and wasn’t shy about sharing his opinions on his new podcast with his brother, Jason. You’re not going to want to miss the things that Travis Kelce had to say. Oh, and the new podcast is pretty damn good too if you want to give it a watch on your Sunday morning.

“The thing is that these PFF graders are grading off of what they think the play should be,” Travis Kelce said. “Whereas we might have a specific fundamental or we might have a specific call that takes us into something else and the play doesn’t work. … The graders don’t necessarily know the objective of the play and the fundamentals that we’re being taught.”

“I also think that there [are] agents out here paying guys to get higher grades than others,” he said. “I won’t name any names.”

“If that was true, that would completely ruin their website, so I don’t think that happens,” Jason said, though he did admit to having wondered it.

“You don’t think there [are] agents out here paying these scouts to give higher grades so their players can make more money when it comes down to the bargaining?” Travis said. “You don’t think there [are] agents out here trying to slither their way into a few extra [bucks]?”

Can someone send this post to Jason Kelce? I’m sure he would be happy to know PFF thought Jalon Reagor was better than Justin Jefferson.

Those are some serious allegations right there. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were true either. My old baseball job I had was sort of similar to what they do at PFF from a charting perspective. Except in football, things are way more subjective based on what is deemed as a positive or negative play. One specific grader could easily hand out more excellent plays for a player that they’re getting paid to prop up. It certainly isn’t the most ridiculous theory I’ve ever seen. If you have seen their player grades, you can’t rule it out because we all know PFF is clueless.

The guys who get it, get it. The guys that don’t, don’t. PFF sucks. End of story. Oh, and if you can find PFF George, tell him I’m looking for him.
