Jett Howard Commits to Michigan, Will Play for Father Juwan

Class of 2022 top-50 prospect, Jett Howard, has committed to Michigan to play for his father and former Fab Five standout, Juwan Howard, as first reported by 247Sports. The younger Howard chose the Wolverines over Tennessee, Florida, NC State, Georgetown and LSU, among others.

The opportunity to play for his father, and join his brother, Jace, was too much to pass up for Howard, he told 247Sports.

“It was a tough decision because I was seriously looking at Tennessee,” says Howard. “But it was just the family atmosphere obviously because of my dad. I also feel I will have a good opportunity to play right away. I honestly like how everybody is treated the same around the campus. I paid attention to the little things when it came to this recruiting process and that stood out along with the culture and environment of the program.”

Howard will play his senior season at IMG Academy alongside fellow 2022 talents in Keyonte George, Jaden Bradley and Jarace Walker. While he certainly won’t be the No. 1 option on another loaded IMG roster, his ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots from the perimeter will be an asset to a team that loves to get downhill.

Howard is your 6-7 prototypical wing. College basketball analysts and recruiting experts alike commend his work ethic and emphasize his high ceiling. Howard is one of the best shooters in his class, and in a Michigan offense that emphasizes movement and spreading out opposing defenses, his frame and shooting ability will be a welcomed addition in Ann Arbor.

Howard’s commitment now gives his father four recruits in the 2022 class. Fellow four-stars Tarris Reed, Dug McDaniel and Gregg Glenn will join the IMG product in Ann Arbor in the fall next year.
