Top 5 Best Pizza Joints in Brooklyn

Pizza for me, a New Yorker Italian, needs to hit a few marks in order to be great. The sauce being number one, crust second and cheese last. The sauce is the entire flavor each slice and sets the tone for each bite. The crust is equally as important but doesn’t equate as much importance as the sauce. Now let’s jump into my personal top-five for pizza joints in Brooklyn, N.Y., ones that fit these qualities.

Best Pizza:

This pizza had the freshest tomato sauce, making each bite taste like it was hand-picked from Nonna’s garden. It has a bite that no other pie has, and it was also the freshest. The slices were saucy and oily.

L’industrie Pizza:

This slice had the standard triangle slice with fresh basil on top, being the most garlicky out of them all. This joint also has pistachio ice cream with olive oil drizzle. I was terrified to try it but so glad I did. You should too. 

Aces Pizza:

Thickest slices that offered the most exciting twist to the standard thin crust. This is the juiciest pizza, be careful for it to dribble down your arms. 

Lucali:

My Brooklyn native friend Regina orders the cheese pie with a side of spicy sauce and calzone. She says, “The calzone has the best burrata that mixes with the spicy sauce. It’s like the perfect proportion of flavor.” According to her, all the ingredients there are really fresh.

Joe’s Pizza:

Joe’s Pizza is by far the most convenient and staple joint. It that never misses, and is good for every person, a tourist or a native. No one can hate the textbook thin crust, perfectly cheesy baked slice with so much flavor just under $3.
